A Case Analysis and Judgment Writing Competition was organized for students of BA LL.B 1st Year and BA LL.B / BBA LL.B 3rd Year at ADGIPS with the objective of providing practical exposure to legal drafting, advocacy, judicial reasoning, and case analysis. The activity was conducted in a structured, courtroom-simulated environment to enhance experiential learning and bridge the gap between theoretical and practical legal education.
In the competition, first-year students participated as plaintiffs and defendants, preparing petitions and presenting arguments based on a hypothetical case problem. Third-year students acted as judges, carefully hearing the arguments, analyzing the facts and legal issues, and drafting reasoned judgments based on legal principles. The exercise closely resembled real court proceedings and encouraged active participation, legal research, and structured argumentation.
The activity observed enthusiastic participation from students across all groups. First-year students demonstrated creativity and developing advocacy skills, while third-year students showcased strong analytical ability and judicial reasoning in judgment writing. The competition helped improve communication skills, teamwork, courtroom etiquette, and confidence among participants.
Overall, the event proved to be an enriching academic experience that enhanced students’ understanding of legal procedures, strengthened their drafting and reasoning abilities, and provided meaningful exposure to practical aspects of the legal profession.
