Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Law School, ADGIPS, Delhi, in association with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), organized a Legal Awareness and Youth Empowerment Programme titled “Empowered Youth, Strong Nation: Know Your Rights, Shape Your Future” on 13 August 2026, on the occasion of International Youth Day. The programme was held from 2:00 PM onwards at the Moot Court Room, Block I, ADGIPS, Delhi.
About the Programme
The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing legal literacy among students and creating greater awareness of their constitutional rights, legal responsibilities and avenues for legal protection and public assistance.
The session was led by Adv. Tarun Garg, who delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on a range of socio-legal issues relevant to young people. The discussion highlighted the importance of maintaining a balance between Constitutional Rights and Fundamental Duties, while also introducing students to mechanisms for accessing free legal aid under the Legal Services Authorities Act and career opportunities in the judiciary and legal aid services.

Participation & Learning Outcomes
The programme was attended by 50 students of BA-LLB (H) and BBA-LLB (H). The session contributed to enhanced awareness of fundamental rights and avenues for free legal aid, strengthened awareness of anti-ragging and safety norms, and encouraged responsible digital behaviour and proactive crime reporting among students.
The programme reaffirmed the importance of legal literacy and civic responsibility in empowering young minds and contributing towards a more informed and responsible society.
