Tushar Raj Kumar, Mentalist & Hypnotist, Training Director, Delhi School of Magic, 2008-2012

It’s an honor to share my journey as an alumnus of Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology & Management, formerly known as Northern India Engineering College, GGSIPU. I completed my B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering here, and those four years were truly transformative.

Beyond tge strong technical foundation and hands-on learning in electricals and electronics, what made ADGITM special were the incredible mentors who shaped us. I was privileged to learnn under the guidance of the late Dr. Yamini Ma’am, Kavita Ma’am, Garima Sethi Ma’am, Ajit Sir, Dr. Dhaka Ma’am, and many other outstanding faculty members. Their dedication gave us the confidence to build projects, undergo industrial training, and even represent the college at zonal-level technical competitions.

ADGITM wasn’t just about academics for me. I had the honor of heading RoboGyan, one of the first robotics societies of our college. I also led Swaranjali, the music society, and the Nukkad Natak society. These platforms helped me grow holistically. A moment I’ll always cherish is winning Mr. Anugoonj 2010 — bringing the main university title to our college for the first time by competing against all GGSIPU colleges. I was also crowned Mr. Fresher, and got to organize multiple annual fests and festivals that created memories for life. Meeting Late Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Sir during one of our fests remains a personal highlight.

I congratulate the entire family of Late Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Sir, along with Dr. Alka Das Gupta Ji and Mr. Viraj Das Gupta Sir, for building this remarkable institution. My gratitude also goes to S.N. Garg Sir, Sanjay Kumar Sir, and Pankhuri Ma’am for their relentless efforts in maintaining professionalism and ensuring excellent in-house placements. The placement support provided by the college was outstanding.

To all aspiring engineers and management students: I highly recommend ADGITM if you’re looking for a holistic environmennt with exceptional professors, industry exposure, and opportunities to discoer your true potential.
