Introduction
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering in collaboration with ADG Law School organized a seminar on “Awareness and Current Insights into Cyber Laws” at Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies (ADGIPS) on 27 February 2026 in the college auditorium. The seminar aimed to create awareness among students about cyber security, cyber laws, and safe digital practices in today’s technology-driven world.
The session was delivered by, Yash Dhingra, Scientist ‘D’ at the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), which functions under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of both departments.
Objective of the Seminar
The primary objectives of the seminar were:
- To spread awareness about cyber security threats and digital safety.
- To educate students about cyber laws and legal frameworks in India.
- To introduce the role and responsibilities of CERT-In in cyber incident response.
- To encourage students to adopt cyber hygiene and responsible online behavior.
Welcome Session
The seminar began with a warm welcome of the guest speaker by the organizing team. The respected Director Sir Prof (Dr.) Niranjan Bhattacharya, Principal of Law School Dr. Jogiram Sharma, and Head of the Department CSE Dr. Megha gupta, welcomed the guest . As a gesture of respect and gratitude, the dignitaries presented a sapling to the speaker, symbolizing growth, knowledge, and sustainability. The welcome address highlighted the importance of cyber awareness in the modern digital era.
