Introduction
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies organized an Online Doubt Clearing Session for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 on 7th September 2025. The event was conceptualized to provide students with guidance, mentorship, and clarity regarding their participation in the upcoming hackathon.
Smart India Hackathon, initiated by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, is one of the largest innovation challenges in India. It encourages students from diverse academic backgrounds to collaborate, brainstorm, and create implementable solutions for real-world problems faced by industries, government bodies, and communities. Participation in SIH not only tests technical abilities but also enhances teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Recognizing the importance of such a platform, the department invited SIH Champions and Evaluators—professionals with hands-on experience in hackathons and industry-level product development. The session aimed to bridge the gap between students’ curiosity and the expectations of the competition, ensuring that participants were equipped with the right mindset and knowledge before entering SIH 2025.
Objectives of the Webinar
- To provide a platform where students could openly ask questions related to SIH, including rules, project selection, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
- To help students understand how to approach problem statements, break them down into manageable tasks, and propose feasible solutions.
- To encourage students by sharing experiences and success stories from past editions of SIH.
- To make students aware of how SIH problems relate to real-world industrial challenges.
- To ensure participation from all B.Tech branches and highlight the interdisciplinary nature of hackathons.
