Overview
The Department of Computer Science, ADGIPS, organized an Industrial Visit to Mother Dairy, Patparganj on 17th November 2025 for B.Tech (CS) students. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world industrial practices by providing students with first-hand exposure to automated systems, quality control processes, and digital monitoring used in the modern food processing industry.
Objective
The primary goal of the visit was to help students:
- Understand industrial automation and data-driven process
- Observe how IT systems, IoT sensors, and quality analytics are used in large-scale
- Learn about the role of computing technologies in supply chain management, cold storage, and logistics at Mother Dairy.
Details of the Visit
The delegation, consisting of over 50 students accompanied by faculty coordinators Ms. Asfiya Zaidi and Ms. Tusha Gupta, reached the Mother Dairy plant at Patparganj in the morning. Students were warmly welcomed by the Mother Dairy technical team and were given an introductory session about the company’s history, its core values of quality, hygiene, and innovation, and its technological evolution in dairy processing.
The guided plant tour showcased:
- Thefully automated milk processing and packaging
- Useof PLC-based systems for real-time data collection and
- Thecold chain logistics system ensuring freshness and
- Insights into energy optimization and waste management mechanisms used by Mother Dairy
Students were also briefed on data handling, machine supervision, and safety protocols, gaining valuable insights into the integration of IT and industrial operations.
Participation
The visit saw active participation from 50+ students of the B.Tech (CS) program. They interacted with plant engineers and supervisors, asking questions related to automation, cloud data storage, and system efficiency.
