The Inter-College Article Writing Competition – 2026, organized by Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Law School on 2nd April 2026, was a significant academic initiative aimed at fostering legal scholarship and constitutional awareness among law students. Centered around the theme “Core Values of the Indian Constitution,” the competition invited participants to engage with the topic “The Constitution as a Tool for Social Justice: Special Emphasis on Fundamental Rights.” A total of 21 students from 7 colleges participated, contributing diverse perspectives on constitutional governance, rights jurisprudence, and social justice. The event commenced with an inaugural address highlighting the importance of constitutional values and legal writing, followed by an orientation session and article presentations showcasing in-depth research on key constitutional provisions such as Articles 14, 19, and 21, along with landmark judgments. The entries were evaluated on research quality, clarity, originality, and legal reasoning, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Mr. Sherwyn Joy Santosh from MSIT College secured the first position, while Ms. Sweta Priya from IIMT College was declared the runner-up. The competition proved highly impactful, enhancing participants’ legal awareness, research and writing skills, and critical thinking, while also promoting academic excellence and inter-collegiate collaboration. Participants appreciated the well-structured format and the relevance of the topic, noting that it encouraged them to think beyond conventional learning and broaden their academic perspective.
