An educational visit to the National Human Rights Commission of India in New Delhi was organized for students of BBA LL.B and BA LL.B to provide practical exposure to the functioning of India’s premier human rights institution, established under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. The visit included orientation sessions and interactive discussions with NHRC officials, where students were introduced to the organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities of the Commission. They also learned about the procedures for filing, investigating, and resolving complaints related to human rights violations by public authorities.
Through these sessions, students gained deeper insights into critical issues such as custodial violence, discrimination, child rights, and women’s rights. The visit also enabled them to understand how legal principles studied in classrooms are applied in real-life situations. Overall, the experience proved to be highly enriching, helping bridge the gap between theory and practice while enhancing legal awareness and inspiring students to explore careers in human rights law, advocacy, and public service.
