Organized By: Datazoic, official departmental society of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science
Date & Time: 20th February 2026, 1:30 – 3:00 pm
1. Introduction
The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS), through its official departmental society Datazoic, successfully organized “Picture This!”, an engaging and creativity-driven team event.
The event was designed to test communication skills, imagination, and coordination between team members in a fun yet competitive setup. Unlike conventional drawing competitions, this activity focused on verbal clarity and interpretation skills rather than artistic talent alone.
In this event, one participant viewed a secret image and described it verbally, while the blindfolded teammate recreated the image solely based on those instructions. The competition highlighted the importance of precise communication, attentive listening, and teamwork under time pressure.
The event aimed to foster collaboration, creative thinking, and active participation among students while providing an entertaining and intellectually stimulating environment.
2. Objectives of the Event
The primary objectives of “Picture This!” were:
- To enhance verbal communication and clarity of expression.
- To strengthen listening and interpretation skills.
To promote teamwork and coordination under time constraints.
- To encourage creativity and visualization abilities.
- To provide a fun and interactive platform for student engagement.
3. About “Picture This!”
“Picture This!” was a two-member team-based competitive event.
Each team consisted of:
- One Describer (who viewed the secret image).
- One Artist (blindfolded participant who recreated the image).
The event was conducted under strict rules to maintain fairness:
- Only verbal communication was allowed.
- No gestures, hints, or external assistance were permitted.
- The blindfolded participant was not allowed to peek at the image.
Teams were evaluated based on:
- Accuracy of the recreated drawing
- Clarity and effectiveness of verbal instructions
- Time efficiency
- Overall coordination and teamwork
The event generated an atmosphere of excitement, laughter, and intense focus as teams attempted to interpret and replicate images with precision.
4. Summary of the Event
4.1 Briefing and Commencement
The event began with a formal briefing by the organizing committee. Participants were informed about the rules, judging criteria, time limits, and fair play guidelines.
Teams were assigned their positions and materials, including drawing sheets, pencils, and blindfolds. Once the competition commenced, describers carefully analyzed the secret images while artists focused intently on interpreting each instruction.
As the rounds progressed, the competition became increasingly engaging. Some teams demonstrated exceptional clarity and synchronization, producing remarkably accurate drawings despite the blindfold condition. The audience enthusiastically observed the creative attempts, adding to the lively atmosphere of the event.
4.2 The Judging and Evaluation Process
The organizing team supervised the event to ensure strict adherence to rules and transparency in evaluation.
The judging was based on:
- Similarity between the original image and the recreated drawing
- Logical sequencing and clarity of instructions
- Time management
- Discipline and fair play
The evaluation emphasized communication effectiveness and teamwork rather than artistic perfection alone.
4.3 Conclusion and Felicitation
After the completion of all rounds, the drawings were carefully evaluated, and the team with the highest accuracy and best coordination was declared the winner.
The winning team was felicitated and congratulated for their exceptional communication skills and teamwork.
All participants were appreciated for their enthusiasm, creativity, and sportsmanship throughout the event. “Picture This!” concluded successfully, leaving students with valuable learning experiences in communication, coordination, and creative thinking. The event significantly contributed to fostering collaboration and interactive learning within the department.
