Introduction

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized an Alumni Talk on 24 March 2026 at the ADGIPS Auditorium. The session was conducted by Lieutenant Satyam Raina (Batch 2020–2024), who is currently serving in the Indian Army. The theme of the talk was “Navigating the Route Map for Nation’s Pride”. The event aimed to inspire students by sharing real-life experiences, career guidance, and insights into serving the nation.

Objective of the Session

To motivate students to explore career opportunities in the defense sector.
To provide guidance on how to prepare for a career in the Indian Army.
To help students understand discipline, leadership, and dedication required for national service.
To inspire a sense of patriotism and responsibility among students.
To create interaction between alumni and current students for knowledge sharing.

Key Highlights of the Session

The session was formally introduced by the Head of Department, Dr. Megha Gupta, who warmly welcomed the speaker and highlighted the significance of the alumni interaction for students’ career guidance and inspiration.
The memento was presented to the esteemed speaker by the Director, Prof. Dr. Niranjan Bhattacharyya, as a token of appreciation and honor for his valuable insights and contribution to the session.
The session was delivered by Lieutenant Satyam Raina, who shared his inspiring journey from being a student to serving in the Indian Army.
He explained the various entry routes to join the Army, including NDA, CDS, and technical entries for engineering students.
Emphasis was laid on discipline, physical fitness, and mental strength as essential qualities for a defense career.
He highlighted the importance of time management, consistency, and goal setting for achieving success.
Real-life experiences from training and service life were shared, giving students a practical understanding of Army life.
He motivated students with the principle of “Service Before Self”, encouraging them to contribute to the nation.
An interactive Q&A session was conducted where students clarified their doubts regarding eligibility, preparation, and lifestyle in the Army.
