Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Law School, under the Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies, organized an academic event titled “IPR Case Analysis on Trademark Act & Geographical Indications Act” on 23 February 2026 at the IPR Lecture Hall. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of BA LL.B (H) and BBA LL.B (H).
The objective of the program was to enhance students’ understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), particularly the legal framework governing trademarks and geographical indications in India. During the session, students presented and analyzed significant case laws related to trademark infringement, passing off, and protection of geographically unique products.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to develop analytical thinking, legal reasoning, and research skills through discussions on judicial interpretations and contemporary issues in intellectual property law. Faculty members guided the discussions and highlighted the practical relevance of IPR in business, trade, and protection of traditional knowledge.
