The Centre of Legal Education (CLE), Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies (ADGIPS) organized a Legal Awareness Camp on Legal Rights and Protection of Children under the Juvenile Justice Act on 8th November 2025 as part of its social outreach and clinical legal education initiatives.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Ayushi Mathur and Ms. Kajal, Assistant Professors, CLE, and was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Jogiram Sharma, Principal, CLE, and Dr. Chandrika Setu Sharma, Head of Department, CLE, along with other faculty members. Around 30 students from BA LL.B (H) and BBA LL.B (H) programmes actively participated in the event.
During the camp, students delivered informative presentations on the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, explaining the legal rights and protection mechanisms available for children, including the roles of Juvenile Justice Boards and Child Welfare Committees. Another session highlighted the importance of education in shaping the future of children and motivating them to pursue their goals.
The programme also included interactive games, group discussions, and awareness sessions on sanitation, hygiene, and career opportunities, which encouraged active participation from the children and created a supportive learning environment.
The camp proved to be a meaningful initiative that not only spread awareness about children’s rights and legal protections but also helped law students develop social responsibility, communication skills, and practical understanding of child protection laws.
